Financial Vice President - Barca Have €35 Million To Spend This Summer

Labels:

Barcelona's financial vice president has revealed that barcelona side will have between €30-35 million to spend in the transfer market this summer.

Barcelona have already been linked with numerous players but if they are to sign someone like Villa, it seems unlikely they will be able to reinforce other positions.

Joan Boix told Ona FM that the way Madrid are spending might come back to haunt them and that Barca know they have to be shrewd.

"It surprises me that they have paid that much for those two players. It is wrong, not just because of the economic situation, and it is not good for anybody," he said.

"Txiki Begiristain and Pep Guardiola know the options we have and we will be keeping our feet on the ground. The problem Real Madrid will have is that in a few years they will start owing money. We have had profits of €10m, €12m and €15m recently and we are using this. With that we will have €50m, then we will take €10-15m for investments in the club and the rest will be to lower debt. At the end, we can speak of about €30-35m to spend."

Boix went onto explain that "it would very easy to go all out, but we don't want economic problems so we are looking long term".

The vice president also add that even though there is talk of David Villa, Ribery and Mascherano now, deals could happen later.

"The last week of August is when most movement happens. By then we will have a team formed. Without spending big we can have a super team. We have time to sign players without any urgency," he declared.

With regards to the future of Valdes, Boix stated that "I expect we will come to an agreement but within the parameters marked by the club".
