And according to El Mundo Deportivo, barcelona could land Reina, who has a contract with Liverpool outfit until 2014, for around €20 million (₤17.5), even though "Rafa Benitez" has never put a valuation on a player he considers indispensable and Barcelona have never hinted at making an approach.

Meanwhile, Barcelona captain Carles Puyol, currently away on Confederations Cup duty with Spain, has told the paper’s correspondent in South Africa that he categorically denies acting as the mediator in the deal to bring Pepe Reina back to the Catalan.

Rumours that Barca had already offered the 26 year old a five year contract worth €5 million per season have also been rejected.
