Barcelona Offer Liverpool Samuel Eto'o In Javier Mascherano Deal

Labels:

Barca aren't giving up in their bid to sign "Javier Mascherano" this summer and are reportedly ready to use the Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o as part of a deal that will see the Argentine move to Camp Nou.

The Mirror reports that Barca have offered the striker to Liverpool and are still interested in signing Javier Mascherano, despite assertions this week by "Rafael Benitez" that he is not for sale.

Certainly Samuel Eto'o's future at the Camp Nou doesn't look too promising at the moment with his contract running out next summer and an extension not yet signed.

Eto'o has been linked with a move to Inter Milan as well as Liverpool and Manchester United, and it appears he could leave Barca.

Whether or not any deal for Javier Mascherano would depend on a sale of "Yaya Toure" is not clear but the Argentine's agent, Walter Tamer, spoke this week about his client's dream to play for Barca.

One factor that the Spanish side might be looking to take advantage of is Liverpool's financial situation, which is not strong at the moment.

The Merseyside club will probably not have too much money to spend this summer and, with the forward line lacking depth, they might be tempted by Samuel Eto'o.
