Andres Iniesta believe To Become Even Better - Crocked Barcelona & Spain Star

Labels:

"Andres Iniesta" has had to endure differing fortunes over the past two months. After capturing the grand treble with El Barca in May, he had to disappointingly pull out of Spain’s Confederations Cup squad in June after he failed to recover from a thigh injury sustained during the Champions League final in rome.

But the 25 year old is eager to look at the positive side of things and take full advantage of this rare opportunity to rest during the summer while most of his team mates and peers are on international duty.

Indeed, AndresIniesta believes that this recuperation period will allow him to become even better when the new season kicks off.

“It was very important for me to play in the Champions League final in rome. I had the misfortune of picking up an injury a few weeks before but I managed to recover just in time,” he said in an interview with Sport.

“I did not want to miss it for anything in the world and in the end, I managed to play, eventhough the injury was always there at the back of my mind. I was not in the best condition of my life but I was convinced I was going to be there [in Rome] and I had a burning desire to play, so I just tried to play as normally as I possibly could.”

Although Iniesta assured that he had learned a lot from the injury and the aftermath, he confessed that he wouldn't have changed his decision if he had to do it again.

“There is no doubt that after this season, I have learned how to listen to my body, to the doctors and to the physios,” he add.

“When you have a problem, it is important to know where it hurts and how it hurts. But I really wanted to play in the final even though I was in pain. I would have played even with a broken foot. I wasn't going to miss this final.”

Despite the injury, Iniesta vowed to continue playing as many games as required throughout the season in order to improve.

“When you play more games, you become better, although it is true that you have more risk of injuries,” he add. “But we will try to make sure that it doesn't happen to me again and I am going to take good care of myself.

“It is clear that I still have a lot of room for improvement because I’m only 25 years old. And that is my intention: to become even better and more complete each year and to win more titles to feel like a better player.”
