Patrick Kluivert Dreams Of Managing Barca

Labels:

Ex-Barcelona Patrick Kluivert has said that he hopes to return to the club as manager one day.

Kluivert's former team mate, Josep Guardiola, has enjoyed unprecedented success in his first managerial season, winning the treble with Barca.

And, speaking to Sport, Kluivert stressed that he was keen to follow in his footsteps, saying, "Pep is a soulmate."

"He always encouraged me and I hope to have the same success as him some day. My dream is to coach Barcelona.

"The Dutch federation allows footballers to do a short course that allows us to coach any team. I want to take advantage of that opportunity, because besides being a football lover, I need to look after my future."

Kluivert has clearly been thinking about the topic, as he showed when he compared Guardiola's situation to Diego Maradona's at Argentina.

"Great players don't always become great coaches," he added.

"However, it is clear that he will always be important because of his experiences. His mere presence will inspire Argentina, and that is exactly what I want to instill in the teams that I coach in the future.

"Football has evolved a lot, and sport and science are now allies, which is a positive thing. I intend to continue that tradition."
