Keirrison has issued a personal statement in an attempt to clarify his current situation.

'Dear friends and fans, I will, unfortunately, not be participating in the next match against Santos. The decision was taken as a group with the board of directors and while the official negotiations with Barcelona take place, I will train on my own.'

Barcelona are widely expected to complete the signing for a fee of around €15-20 million in the coming days. It remains to be seen whether Keirrison will remain at the Catalan, or be used in a potential deal for David Villa.
