Filipe Luis is keen to ensure that Barca know he is ready to join them, as he has again spoken about his desire to move to the European champions from Deportivo de La Coruna.

Filipe is expected to join Barcelona this summer and he has stated that the step up is something that he is relishing and believes he is prepared for.

A fee of around €5 million is expected to be agreed for the Brazilian, whom Barcelona want to replace his compatriot Sylvinho after the former Arsenal and Celta Viga left back was released by the Catalan.

"Depor are a great club because they have won the league, but I have always dreamt of, and believe I am now ready to, play for a team that always plays for every trophy," Filipe is quoted as saying by Sport.

"Barcelona is the best team in the world and have won everything by defeating all their opponents.

"After five years of playing in Europe I think I am ready for this step up in quality.

"I think that I have the profile to play in a defence with the characteristics that the Barcelona side has.

"When you are playing in a team that sits back a lot you have to defend far more than if you are playing in a great team where you would have the chance to show what you can really do.

In every club I have played in I have had to compete for my place. Even at Depor it was not easy, but I have confidence in my own ability because I have grown a lot in the past two seasons."
