Sandro Rosell Wants Fabregas On His Barca Ticket

Labels:

Future Barca presidential candidate Sandro Rosell has lined Fabregas up as the poster boy of his campaign.

Laporta's time as president at Barcelona will end after this season, and his former right hand man, Rosell, is widely expected to contest the elections. He has already begun preparations, and, according to AS, his attentions are firmly focussed on Cesc Fabregas.

When the player left Barca in 2003, Rosell tried to obtain a first transfer option should Arsenal ever decide to sell him. They are unlikely to do so, but Sandro Rosell believes that the summer of 2010 will be the perfect time for Cesc to return to Barcelona, especially as it would be on the back of a World Cup.

Cesc Fabregas has made no secret of his desire to return to the Camp Nou at some stage in his career, but he has committed to Arsenal for the coming season.

Sandro Rosell, meanwhile, has a history of structuring major deals, and he is rumoured to be one of the main factors behind Ronaldinho's initial decision to join the club.
