Agent - Sergio Asenjo Has Rejected Fiorentina For Barca Or Atletico

Labels:

Sergio has received an offer from Fiorentina but wants to stay in Spanish football and is set to decide whether to move to Atletico de Madrid or Barca, according to his agent.

The 19 year old goalkeeper has impressed all season with Valladolid and will step up a level this summer.

Atletico have held talks with the player and he is tempted by a move to the Madrid, although the chance to play for Barca is one that he would find difficult to turn down, his representative, Zoran Vekic, explained.

Fiorentina's interest has flattered the young custodian, however, their financial offer means that they aren't a realistic option and so Asenjo will now consider the two Primera Division outfits.

"The interest of Fiorentina is real. They have made an offer to Valladolid, but we prefer other solutions," Vekic told El Mundo Deportivo.

"We have had two meetings with the leaders of Fiorentina, but the sporting and economic conditions don't convince us.

"Asenjo prefers to continue in Spain, where we have two major options, which are Barcelona and Atletico."

Zekic then explained that Barca would be the first choice, but Asenjo doesn't want to go to Camp Nou and spend the season on the bench if Valdes stays.
